The Texaco Gas & Mini Mart on Shorewood Forest Blvd. and Catalina Street between TheParkforest Sub-Division and The Monticello Sub-Division in Baton Rouge should be boycotted for their treatment of their customers! When they ring-up your order, there is never any eye contact or any pleasantries exchanged! If they're on the cell phone, they keep right on talking! They never thank you for your business, and they never offer you a bag to put your things into. When you ask for a bag, they just hand you the bag to put your own things in. My family and I have stopped shopping and buying gas there for the past three weeks or so. I think anyone who doesn't want to be treated like a second class citizen, should do the same. Please pass this on to the citizens in that area. Thank you.

I am in agreement with you and your comments.  This is exactly why we as residents of Monticello should not support such business establishments.  We must put forth efforts to monitor and change what goes on in and around our living spaces if we are to continue to sustain the values of our homes.  These type of establishments are set up to bring in a type of people who have no self-esteem and don't mind being handled like a lesser person by those who believe themselves to be superior.  As residents of Monticello, it is my belief that we all have something going on in the lives of our families-working hard, striving to succeed in this life.  We are believers in ourselves and we want our neighborhood to reflect our status quo.  While the economy make have hindered our strides to succeed, we have not thrown in the towel. We must let our neighbors know that we should not patronize these types of businesses. We must take control of what is flopping down near our neighborhood so that our homes will maintain value and increase in value.  If I ever sale, I want real equity from my home. I don't intend to let such business establishments take out of my pocket. So continue to drum up support. I will put forth my effort also.
