I live on Graham Drive and a few days ago a car pulled up with 2 young men and a a young woman. She rolled the window down and held up a device that looked like a scanner, or something, in the air. They just sat there for a while holding it up, as high as she could reach,in the air.
When we approached one of the men gave a half-wave and smile and they quickly rolled up the window and took off.
Not sure what it was or what they were doing but we got the license place number just in case.
I do know I had computer connection problems that evening and I hadn't had any earlier that evening. We're wireless so we reset everything and reset security passwords.
Wondered if anyone else saw them or knew what they were doing. It's was just kinda strange.

I heard something on the national news a few weeks ago about thieves using devices that read your garage door opener code. Eventually, it supposedly opens your garage door and then.............

Odds are they were doing some war driving. They were seeing who had a unprotected wireless system at their house, and then surfing the internet off it.

Always use WEP encryption and hide your SSID.

Strange...protect yourself

yes, WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is good, and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) is better. An unencrypted/unprotected wireless signal is an invitation you do not need to send...help and protect yourself, encrypt your wireless signal...wanna know how?
