Hello neighbors. I am posting this in hopes to get some community involvment with the county you live in. I am a volunteer with WEMA - DART (Wilson County Emergency Management Agency -Disaster Animal Response Team).

As many of you might or may not know, Wolf Creek Dam is rated number one in the country to give way and cause a disaster larger than Katrina in New Orleans when the levy's broke. Due to this, we are recruiting individuals who would like to be involved with our animal response team here in Wilson County. Our goal is to provide assistance during local emergencies such as overturned trailers hauling livestock, animals who are trapped, providing shelters after a tornado, or assisting in larger scale disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes or terrorist attacks against both man made or agricultural targets.

If you would like to be involved, but not want to get too involved, we are also looking for people who would like to volunteer to help walk dogs spend time with cats, feeding, and other volunteer work that does not involve becoming certified.
