Mountainside Neighbors

Common grounds

Posted in: First Villa West
There seems to be a war between people who use the lawns and parking lots as if they were their frontyears: storing cars, leaving toys around, playing sports and damaging the grass; and those who want to maintain a well-groomed, private feel of the First Villa West.

If the lawns are shot, if there are toys and kids everywhere, if there is noise and mess, the value of our units will decrease substantially.

Imagine potential buyers coming to look at one of the condos and seeing the clutter and the screaming of kids, and people sitting on the grass and smoking. What are we: a ghetto?!

I propose keeping our neighbourhood neat and classy, the way it always was. The kids can play at Belmar park: the parents can take them for a walk instead of just letting them loose unsupervised around the block. The bikes and toys can stay on the porches, and so can patio furniture.

I have kids, and pets, and patio furniture, and I have been a civil considerate neighbour for many years. I am friendly with all my neighbours, and just want to live in a nice place, which I can eventually sell for a good price.
