NAC MEETING MINUTES
June 4, 2003 5:30pm, Waring House

Meeting Minutes:
The meeting was convened at approximately 5:30pm, called to order by Art Blomberg, NAC Co-Chair.
1) New Neighborhood Organization representatives and Neighborhood Trustees were introduced:
Sheff Tulp, (CHUN); Nancy Nelson, (Congress Park); Cameron Bertron, (East Cheesman Neighbors Association); Marc David McCall, Neighborhood Trustee
2) Update on DBG plans and programs
a) John Skahill reported that DBG has no new plans or programs underway or under consideration. The York Street service entrance is on hold.
b) Search for a new Executive Director is continuing.
3) Sound Wall Update: re: DBG concern for impact of the Sound Wall on plant stock.
a) No acoustical evaluation was made at the end of last season.
b) The stage will be constructed Monday, June 9 for the new season.
c) A sound check, without the Sound Wall, will be made Tuesday, June 10 at 3 pm; observation is welcome.
d) A 2nd sound check, with the Sound Wall in place, will be made Wednesday, June 11 at 3 pm; observation is welcome.
e) Acoustical readings will be made during each show (City Ordinance: 55 Dba average maximum during 15 minute intervals). Copies of the reports from each concert will be transmitted to Art Blomberg for continued monitoring.
f) Sheff Tulp requested that sound monitors be present during pre-concert rehearsals; John Skahill said, ?“We can do that?”.
4) DBG Events
a) June ?– August Concerts: 12, plus 2 children?’s shows.
b) Chili Fest,
c) Other scheduled events (under 500 people):
1) Fete de Fleur
2) Bird House Bash
d) Still openings for rentals that could be large events.
e) Events involving more than 500 people will require advance notification and may necessitate parking restrictions, in accordance with the Large Events Procedures.
5) Communications / Outreach of NAC in community for info and feedback
a) Resolution presented and passed to form and empower subcommittee for outreach
b) Committee members: Sheff Tulp (CHUN); Timothy Hepp (East Cheesman); Nancy Nelson (Congress Park); Art Blomberg (Morgan?’s); Community Gardeners.
6) Art Blomberg proposed limit of 2 year staggered terms for Executive Committee
