Crime Stopper Tips- CALL & REPORT.
NAP CRIME STOPPER TIPS
We will have more in a series of tips to share, but Arthur Plitt said “ these 8 items will save you and your neighbors a lot of agony and loss and make our neighborhoods even better.”
1. Remember to turn on your alarm...and use lighting for security and tell a neighbor that you are away or to check on your property even if at work.
2. Call the police for any suspicious person or happening. 727-9100 or 726-3911 and ask for the officer in charge to share the information. Get their name for follow up if there is no attention to your report and also indicate you are with the Oak Hill Neighborhood Association or NAP- Neighborhood Alliance of Pawtucket.
3. Call Ron Travers at Code Enforcement at 728-0500 x254 for concern about any non shoveled walks or foreclosed home in disrepair.
4. Call Barney Heath at 724-5200 if you think there is an abandoned home that maybe in foreclosure or about to be...although they track the legal ads. Oak Hill may have 5 in the 200 in the city, but the market is better and many have already been in the process of being sold
5. Engravers are available for a week loan if you want to mark your valuable equipment. Call 729-5847 for arrangements to pick up.
6. You may call the police to have the district car check on your property if you are away for an extended time.
7. If you do not have a neighbor to pick up your mail and newspapers, call the post office and the paper to hold your deliveries.
8. Call National Grid with the pole number of a light that is out/flickering or call 728-0500 x236

Oak Hill News - .
Oak Hill has been fortunate with our crime situation still being contained. We have had issues of house breaks, open cars rifled for change and cars stolen, but much more controlled than other areas because of the eyes and ears of you - our great neighborhood watchers. Thanks for making the Difference for all of us together!....
It is important to call the police each and every time you suspect something and to report an incident, even if you think it is small. It may be a pattern and also enables the police to focus more attention to areas of Oak Hill if incidents are increasing. It is important for your lighting as a security measure as well as making sure the street lights are on. You can report them locally or to Narragansett Electric with the Pole number for quicker ID.
The Challenges group on Ridge Street are again at your service for cleanups and snow shoveling. Call Michael Bailey for arranging for their group to assist so well as in the past. Challenges– 725-8453
