Bud VanCleve Hazel Dell Washington

Posted in: NE Hazel Dell

What a hero he is to children...all except his own that is. His son, Gary VanCleve is at OHSU dieing and is currently on life support. Bud Vancleve refused to see his son at his son's request stating that they have never had a good relationship and that when his son was in his twenties he wrote his Dad, Bud Vancleve a bad check for a pair or shoes. Bud owned a shoe store as most of you know. His son, Gary Vancleve is now 55yrs old and was a Network Engineer for EDS/Willamette industries and although his Dad, Bud Vancleve could not forgive him for writing a bad check, Gary continued on to have a successful life and  to love his father unconditionally and wanted to see him before slipping into a coma at OHSU on March 15th,2010. Bud's brother Bill, who is a pastor begged Bud to open his heart to HIS son but Bud refused. His wonderful wife Sherry stood beside him stating that they have their own family with THEIR children. I am Gary's stepdaughter of 30 years and Gary is the most wonderful giving person that anyone could ever cross paths with. He gives all and takes nothing. He has been married to my Mother for 30 years and their marriage has been an example to all who surround them.  Bud Vancleve, I will pray for your wicked unforgiving soul. I ask all to please pray for Gary Van Cleve and you can view all of the people that are praying for him and that love him on my facebook at dmcclain01@rconnects.com.... We have churches and people praying for him across the nation thanks to his Uncle Bill (Bud Vancleve's brother) please everyone love your children and above all please realize they are only human. There is NO Other side to this story....Gary requested Bud's presence and Bud refused. Pastor Bill and myself are the ones who personally spoke to Bud Vancleve.

Just a note....that Gary has amazed the doctors at OHSU and is actually doing better today. Gary received a blood tranfusion in the early 70's from his spleen erupting. After hearing information on the local news informing people who had blood tranfusions during this time to get screened for Hepatitis C, he mentioned it at his next physical. After being tested, he unfortunately had the disease. Gary went through the OHSU evaluation and became number one on the transplant list on December 31st, 2009. He is currently on pause due to a number of factors that occured a month ago. Although still on life support, he opened his eyes this morning and tried lifting his arms to hug me this morning. He is slowly waking from the coma. If we can get him through an infection in his hip that occured 5 weeks ago due to a fall, and off the ventilator, he will be number one on the list again. I pray for all who are in need of organs and the wonderful people that are donors. All of the prayers along with the staff at OHSU are helping so very much. Thank you Uncle Bill and Cousin Bill....(Cousin Bill is actually the Pastor and Uncle Bill is Bud Vancleve's brother). This is such a miracle and blessing if only for today as a few days ago they thought he would not make it through the evening. Thank you so much to his loving Mother who is at his side everyday along with the rest of his family and so many wonderful friends...even, people from his Doctor's office come to visit him and love him. Bud VanCleve I will continue to pray for your cold and unforgiving heart. It is amazing when I read what you will do for people when recognition is involved. I was also told by your other son today that he has tried to get you to forgive as well....My Gosh...what did Gary do that was so horrific for you to be full of so much hate....Actually, someone that is so full of hate, such as you are, needs no reason....it is more about you and again I will pray for you. Afterall, without you, there would be no Gary Vancleve....even if you wish he wasnt your son, we thank you for him and the blessing he is to everyone's life that he touches. Gary really has such a huge fan club that he doesnt need Bud Vancleve's love......so, God forgives you Bud and we will as well.

Gary VanCleve made his journey to heaven on March 31st, 2010. God has already blessed his soul. He lived his life as God wanted him to. Giving everything and taking nothing...We love you Dad...
