Traffic management

Posted in: Bayou Bonita
We will be having some traffic information at some of the upcoming meetings. We need to gather some info and feedback beforehand from residents about their traffic concerns.
Our current progress is as follows, we have had all the traffic speed humps installed that we requested 4 years ago. Our traffic circle is to be placed in the intersection of 4th Street South and 42nd Ave. S. in August of 2006 according to the city Traffic Department. In the fall we will be coming around with petitions for residents to sign in regards to the next stage of our traffic plan.

The proposed plan is as follows
additional speed humps on 4th Street South between 39th Ave. S. and 45th Ave. S.
additional speed humps on Sunrise Dr. S. between 39th Ave. S. and 45th Ave. S.
speed humps on 42nd Ave. S. between 4th St. S. and Sunrise Dr. S.
additional speed humps on 39th Ave. S. between 6th St. S. and 4th St. S.

Thanks for the info on the traffic management plan. We noticed the use of a speed sign in operation on 4th street near 54th. It uses radar to track the approaching cars speed and displays the speed in red letters. We were thinking instead of another speed hump on 39th maybe this might work better. I can do some research on this device if anyone knows which direction I should take.
Thanks.
