Northwest Alliance Conference Call Meeting

Minutes of Meeting for May 29,2009

P.M.The conference call meeting that was held
on May 29,2009. In attendance was Paul
Griffin,Verna Mitchell, Patricia Newton
Francis Gilliam and Fronie Jones.
First thing establish was the date and time of the next meeting.The date is June 9th at 6:30P.M. at the northwest center. The next Thing we discussed was
City cleanup starting at the Northwest
center on June 13th,time 9a.m. until
12P.M. The next thing that was discussed was National Night Out which
is August 4th and we wanted to make it a City and County Event.I have to call
these people to set up a meeting with
Carl Meltzer, North patrol Manager.

The Northwest Alliance Meeting .

On the 9th of June the meeting was called to order at 6:45 p.m. by the chairman Paul Griffin with prayer and the reading of the minutes. The new item on the agenda was the cleanup Orlando for saturday June 13th. then we decided to collect dues of 5.00 per month for the association and we voted on it, with the majority in favor,there were no opposes.The money
will be given to the treasurer.This was put into motion by Verna Mitchell and second by Fronie Jones,it was voted and pass by the majority and was accepted. Then we decided to have anothe conference call on June 23rd,at
6:30p.m.the conference call number is 641-715-3630 ext. 112531.Melody also talked about a class on expunging and restoring your right with a first,second or third degree felony. Melody said that we can all be trained on how to do this.Our next meeting will be in August. We talked about the
Thanksgiving dinner and also about keeping Grant informed about the City Grant for ou next Day of Unity. the meeting was closed at 7:35 by the chairman.

Northwest Conference call meeting on June 23rd.

conference call meeting on June 23rd at 6:30p.m.The meeting was started with
prayer and the introduction of two new people and they were Desha and Stacey of OCPS system.those present at the conference call was Paul Griffin,Verna Mitchell, Francis Gilliam, David Jones ,Melody Hill and Fronie Jones.The people that came to talk about their program for mentoring kids for the Northwest Neighborhood and helping them to understand taking the F-cat test. their E-mail address is stacey.wait@ocpss.net Then we discussed the
National Night- out for august 4th. We need two themes and then we will select
one theme to turn in by July 6th. we are asking each neighborhood president
to come up with an idea around the national theme of"Neighbors Knowing Neighbors".Paul is going to talk to
the mat at the store to se if we can use the empty lot to kick-off National-Night Out and then we can go back to our neighborhoods and continue the festive night in which we show unity in our neighborhoods against crime.Verna will call Carla about the
counties national night out and also about the county grants for the program.Melody also mention to someone
that we need the police need to mingle
,educate kids so they won't be afraid of the police and will know how to talk
with them. The next Conference call will be Tuesday June 30th at 7:30p.m.same conference call number. the call meetimg ended at 7:32p.m.
