On behalf of the Board of the CPAAA welcome to our web site page. We hope that you find information here to be useful. We encourage you to join us and participate. Together we can make a difference.
I want to acknowledge the NYPD’s support and thank them. I want to Thank Police Commissioner Kelly in particular for his help, guidance, leadership and nurturing of our organization.
Commissioner Kelly founded the NYPD Citizens Police Academy over ten years ago. The result is that at this point over 2000 New Yorkers have been given an in-depth education regarding the NYPD. With knowledge our city residents have the ability to help improve their own communities. Working together in partnership with their local precincts people are able to address local quality of life issues, and help the officers. We as members of the public have also been given an understanding of some of the challenges facing a police officer on a daily basis. It is clear that working together with our local police officers we can accomplish things and try to help in our communities. Together, as New Yorkers we can make a difference. As an organization we are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the best police department in the country.
Our organization is open to every graduate of the academy. If you are a graduate of the Academy and have not joined, I welcome you on behalf of the organization and encourage you to come to our other meetings.
