On December 21, 2002, North Cliff neighbors received trees as part of a tree-planting project started by neighborhood leader Janet Shepherd.
Ms. Shepherd worked "behind the scenes" for over a year, finding neighbors who wanted trees and working with an arborist to get the best trees for our area. Then the depth of the soil had to be measured and everyone--from AT&T cable to the water department--had to inspect the area to make sure their particular cables would not be disturbed by the addition of new trees.
On Saturday morning, December 21, the trees were delivered--an early Christmas present for North Cliff!
In summers to come, residents of Twelfth Street will enjoy the shade from their beautiful new trees.
If you'd like trees on your street, post a note on the "Talk about it" section of our website. In the meantime, go to our photo album and have a look at our Twelfth Street neighbors planting their new trees!
