Thanks to generous corporate support, city and state funding, grants and private donations, the Restoration Ingersoll project will move from ?“blueprints?” to ?“construction?” with plans to break ground next summer for the pilot project area from 28th to 31st St. Three phases are planned for the project, covering Ingersoll Ave. from 15th to 42nd St. when complete. To date, more than $1.35 million of the $2.1 million goal have been raised.
The Restoration Ingersoll proposal & plans include:
?§ Decorative street lighting;
?§ Widened pedestrian sidewalks;
?§ Enhancements including new street trees,
benches, bicycle racks, planter urns and
beds;
?§ Identifying key locations for public art;
?§ Expanding on-street parking & shared,
off-street parking lots.
