I appreciate this form of communication. It surprises me with the number of 'anonymous' that are posted.
Here are some real quick 'rules to live by while living in this or any subdivision'.
If you see some trash, pick it up - your neighbors and the WHOA Thanks you.
If you repeatedly see trash, locate it's source and tell them about it (neighbors, trash pick-up collectors, etc.) - your neighbors and the WHOA Thanks you.
If trash continues to be a problem contact a board member with DETAILS. If the common areas are not getting cut and you think it should - contact a board member.
If you have more vehicles than garage space, please park them in your driveways, not in the front lawn.
Treat your fellow man like you would want to be treated. It's that simple.
If you don't know the rules of the WHOA, contact The Ghertner Co. (our management company) at 255-8531 x307 and Joy will get you one. It is hard for me to understand people who pay WHOA dues and don't have a copy of our ''do's and don'ts. Just because you don't have the book does not exclude you from the laws.
Yes there are several violations of our CC&R's in our subdivision. And we will get to each one of them as time and money permits.
Lastly, the board members are your neighbors and volunteers. Can we make this a better place to live? YOU BET! But it is going to take more than the board members - it takes you. Our door is wide open to people who want to help the other WHOA volunteers.

comments from Ben Davis

I am glad to see that our board president has accessed our homeowner's website. I am not glad that it took 2 months after our annual WHOA meeting for you to do it, Mr. Davis.

I use this website to read and try to keep up with the happenings in our neighborhood. I am sure that's the reason others do. I am also sure that the reason people post anonymously is to try not to offend their neighbors whom they may have a complaint about. It dismays me to see that those who post their name will have their concerns addressed more quickly than those who do not. Perhaps people are under the impression that Ghertner and/or board members are reading the postings as I was.

It was made clear at the WHOA meeting that we are to try to resolve issues on our own, as the 3 statements you have made regarding trash above imply. I, for one, would like to see the management company that we pay a large fee for handle the problems. The board members all appear to be very busy, perhaps too busy. We all pay dues, I expect something in return. The vast majority of homeowners at the meeting raised their hand to say they do not have a copy of the CC&Rs; is it not Ghertner's responsibility to provide these to new homeowners in the sub, as they have their hand out for collection of our dues? They are obviously made aware of new neighbors, they want their $$$. Why do homeowners have to chase them down? The only time I have ever gotten a response from Joy was after I went directly to Scott Ghertner to complain that I had left message after message for her. I have other things to do with my time.

Mr. Davis, my husband and I also advised you that we had left you several messages also. That being said, and you graciously apologized for the miscommunication, I would like to ask you and all board members to keep an eye on this site. It allows homeowners to make contact on their time, and would save time playing phone tag.
