Applicants provided Commission a Good Neighbor Letter from Tifereth Israel Synagogue indicating the synagogue’s agreement to allow parking in their lot for the B&B. Further advised that the house has 8 bedrooms, but underscored that only 5 of the bedrooms would be rented (maximum) for the B&B.
Commissioner Jackson asked if the applicants had contacted the Block Watch for input.
Applicant (MM) indicated that they had spoken with the immediately adjacent neighbors but not the entire street of Block Watch.
Susan King from the Eastwood Block Watch indicated that at their December meeting Commissioner Diane Brown had spoken with the group about the request for variance. Ms. King further stated that the general consensus of the Block Watch was that the group was generall supportive of the B&B, but had some concerns with the parking.
Applicant (RS) stated that on Jewish Holidays when the synagogue parking lot is full they will either not operate as a B&B or limit the capacity to further reduce the parking impact.
Commissioner K. Bailey: Stated that B&Bs do a lot to enhance and area.
Commissioner I. James moved that the request for variance be approved. Motion was seconded by K. Bailey.
Motion was passed 4-0-0
