NEAC supports demolition

NEAC voted to support the demolition of 556 Parkwood Ave., 547 Parkwood Ave., and 393 Taylor Avenue as requested by Columbus Urban Growth. The structures were frame and badly damaged. The vacated lots will comprise part of the Taylor Avenue Homes project.

Columbus Compact Rehab Money

Columbus Compact has set aside 500,000 for rehab and 220,000 for down payment assistance for the EZ area. The rehab program will be administered by Mid Ohio Regional Planning Corporation (MORPC), and the down payment assistance by Columbus Housing Partnership (CHP). The cap on rehab assistance is 10,000 depending on your income. Interested parties should call the Compact at 251-0926 to have their name added to the list. Both projects are expected to be underway sometime in October.

Louis Rivers, OSU Intern will be working with NEAC to establish contacts for a survey he is conducting on Ohio's parks and forests.
