String of Drive-Thru Robberies Could Be Related
Photos show the violent armed robberies being committed at local fast food restaurants.
Gerald Milner, Columbus Police: ''Very fortunate that no one has been hurt. It's not that attempts haven't been made to cause some injury.''
In fact, two shots were fired during an attempted robbery at the drive thru window of a McDonalds on Livingston Avenue. That turned out to be just the beginning of a crime spree. On October 7th, this Wendy's became the fifth fast food restaurant hit in just over a week.
Because there are so many similarities police are convinced they were committed by the same men. The descriptions all show three male blacks between the ages of 17 and 19, five foot six and five foot ten. Their method of operation is the same. They're wearing hooded sweatshirts. And the robberies have all taken place late at night, at restaurants on the East Side of Columbus. Their target each time has been the cash registers at the drive thru window.
If you can identify the robbers and help put them behind bars, call Central Ohio Crimestoppers at 645-TIPS.
