As far as the Eastgate Community, we have 2 families with children who attend Eastgate Elementary, even though the school sits squarely in the center of the Eastgate Community. Currently, all of the children who did attend Eastgate Elementary have been moved over to Pilgrim Elementary. Students who presently attend the Eastgate structure were shipped over from Beatty Park.

Maybe Pilgrim School has distributed information to the parents of the children, but 99% of them do not live in this community. In effect the information is sent out of the community. The committee, I have learned, hold their meetings, again, over at Pilgrim which is outside of the community. Again, there was really no effort to notify the community, only the parents.

With the many elderly who reside in Eastgate, it is not really much of a option to travel to Pilgrim at night. The community has been to this date, very much in the dark on this ''design'' phase.

I do not know the makeup of this committee, but if they can travel to Pilgrim, they could travel the extra mile to Eastgate Elementary for their meetings. After all, it is the physical location of the proposed building and you would not be asking a lot of retired persons to leave their community at night in the Winter.

The ''community'' they are meeting with, are the parents, who live elsewhere. With busing so prevelant these days, there should be a better method of contacting those affected by the location of the structure.
