Whomever is the president of the Neighborhood Association needs to contact Theresa Marchetti (Liquor License Specialist) 503-823-3092 to look into this new business.

It appears that they are trying to put a bar in the area and it would be open from 8am to 2am Sunday through Monday.

The name itself is ridiculous and this neighborhood does not need this type of establishment.  There is a school just down the street and a park across the street and bringing drunken individuals into the neighborhood can not be good.

Additionally, this would increase noise, traffic, crime and other unsavory issues.

Please make sure we get this place out of the area.

Joellen and Tracie are the Co-Chairs of the Woodlawn Neighborhood Association. If you have neighborhood concerns I would encourage you to attend a WNA meeting. Additionally, if you are concerned with drunks in the park and other nuisance issues, you might consider joining Woodlawn's foot patrol.

As for Rumpspankers, I am not exactly clear how their desire to serve alcohol is any different from that of Good Neighbor Pizzeria, which has a full bar, DJ's, regular live music, and is actually closer to the school.

I would agree that the name is pretty unusual, but that is hardly a sound reason to object to their presence. They have been very popular in their previous location . . . and if the cup of coffee I had their this morning is any indication of quality, they will do quite well in Woodlawn, so prepare to be disappointed. Diversity of cuisine is not a bad thing.

The name itself is different. Nothing wrong with that. As for increasing "crime", the place doesn't even seem to have a sit down bar. They are asking to serve drinks with meals, like most any other dining establishment would.

The food is amazing. The head cook came out to my table and talked at length about the food and his plans to use as many local ingredients as possible. This is the kind of place you WANT in your neighborhood.

People who are going to mill about the neighborhood  drunk and cause "problems" are not going to sit down for a meal and pay upwards of $6 for a cocktail. They are going to slam Steel Reserve that they got at the Plaid Pantry down the road.

My fiance and myself had dinner there on Tuesday, and it was wonderful!  Delicious local food with flair and so much food for your money!  We are actually in the process of planning our wedding in the upstairs Village Ballroom (owned by the same couple) and are very excited to have their food served to our guests.  We live nearby, and think it's great to be able to keep our wedding in our neighborhood.  And keep in mind, most wedding's serve some type of alcohol (champagne toast, anyone?) and venue must be licensed to do so. 

And great point above, people that are going to have a glass of wine with their food, are not the ones causing a ruckus in the streets.  Please don't judge a book by it's cover, or in this case, by a silly name!
