Neighbors United For Change

FOURTH OF JULY BLOCK PARTY

Jul 12, 2004

Neighbors United For Change recently celebrated July 4th with an awesome response.

Our block captain and co-captain set up tables and grills and cooked the hot dogs and hamburgers that were donated and served the children and then the adults.

Neighbors on the block came out with their umbrella tables and chairs.

Decorations of red, white and blue streamers decorated the gates of the bakery facing our street and there were medium sized swimming pools placed up and down the street for the children.

The patronage by the various stores and bakery in the area provided the paper goods, breads, hot dogs, hamburgers, condiments, sodas
and popsicles for the day.

Neighbors themselves brought out their grills and cooked their own cookout treats as relatives and friends filled the block.

There was music first by our block captain then later on by a dj brought in by some of the younger women on the block.

The day was pleasant with total cooperation from all the neighbors who came out and represented our blocks festivities on this day.

The evening ended with supervised fireworks.
