I have seen many children and their families crusing around the neighborhood on motor - scooters and atvs, I know that theirs are laws about the atvs but the scooters can be bought at kids toy stores. Now I know that sometimes teenagers can get a little rampbunksish on these things and can sometimes go in places they should not. But seriously, what is worse allowing our neighborhood children to ride around on motor-scooters and go carts or having them out of the corner selling or doing drugs. Their is so much other crimes that need to be promptly attended to. Like the teenage prostitution that is going on located on Oregon Ave. on the south side of the neighborhood. Or the teenaged hoodlums hanging out all hours of the day and night doing drugs and robbing houses. These are the type of problems that need to be addressed. I have not noticed any of the children that have been riding the motor-scooters and go carts perticipating in these criminal acts. Why you ask? Because they have something fun to do. To many kids are spending their days inside the houses playing video games and watching tv because they are not allowed to do anything fun because now a days everything is illegal and they can not do anything without getting into trouble or someone complaining about it. Let kids be kids. Let them ride their little motor-scooters and go carts up and down the street. Yes they might be a little noisey but atleast you know where they are and what they are doing. These kids are the next generation and how they grow up and develop is everyones problem because when they get bored because they have nothing to do they turn to crime and drugs because it is something fun for them. So we as a community can either deal with the childs play and let them play, or deal with the repocusions of them selling drugs to younger children that are on tighter leashes. Think about when you were young! What did you love to do as a kid? Now think about the kids today, are (WE) as a community letting them do these things or are we restricting them on childs play. No with that said you tell me what wrong with kids today.
