TIPS FOR A TROLLEY "FIRST-TIMER"

Here is what you need to know to ride the TROLLEY.

Find out when and where to catch the trolley:
Check out the Routes &
Schedules
section of this Web site, or dial 585-1234, TTY 587-8255,

How to signal to the driver that you want to get off the trolley:
Pull the overhead cord or push the yellow strip between the windows a block
before your stop. TARC trolleyes do not stop traffic; never walk in front of
the trolley into the street. Wait until traffic has cleared before crossing the
street.

Lost and Found:

Call TARC's Lost and Found at 561-5157, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday,
or Saturdays 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and we will attempt to locate your item.

If you live too far to walk to the trolley: - the amphitheater lot
Park 'n' TARC lots are located at many easily accessible places, like churches
and shopping centers. Drive your car to the lot, park it, and hop on board at
the trolley stop. For more information on Park 'n' TARC lots, call the TARC
Customer Service Center at 585-1234 or click here to view Park 'n' TARC locations
nearest you.

If you use a wheelchair or other mobility device:
All trolleyes are wheelchair accessible and can “kneel down” or lower the
steps, if you have difficulty stepping into the trolley.

The seats near the front of the trolley are reserved for older or disabled
passengers. The driver may ask riders to change seats to allow those in need to
have these seats. There are also areas in the front of the trolley where a
wheelchair can be secured. The driver will help you with this when boarding.

Be a safe and courteous rider:
Smoking, eating, drinking and carrying a weapon are prohibited on the trolley.
Use electronics with headphones only, loud noise is a distraction for the
driver. Clean up after yourself and use the trash receptacle at the front of
the trolley.

THE NEW CUT CORRIDOR NEIGHBORHOODS

New Cut Road at the Outer Loop was originally Beuta Road which ran from 7th Street to the Stoney
Ford Crossing.  In 1860, New Cut Road officially became the name of the road because people kept referring to it as the new road going through the cut.

Today, the 24,000 residents and countless businesses along the corridor find themselves
situated at the southern gateway to Louisville, bookended by 7,000 acres of parkland
and a northbound road leading to other attractions including U of L and Churchill Downs.
