Remember that it is winter and that we live in Wisconsin.-- it's cold, snowy, and slippery. Please use Caution when walking on the sidewalk and driveways. You may have to put your snow boots on while walking to your vehicle- you may have to walk through a few inches of snow at times.
That being said: the snow removal plan is not like that in years past-- snow may NOT be removed as often as in the past or at the same time or time-frame as in the past. This is due to budget as well as other factors.
Our number one concern is safety- but we do ask you to do your part and be safe while walking. If it is currently snowing- snow removal will happen within a few hours after the final snowfall. So, there may be a few inches of snow to walk through. If the forecast calls for many inches of snow in a short time-frame, snow removal may happen only once, after the final snowfall. If the forecast calls for several inches over a few-day time-frame, snow removal may happen 3 or 4 times, for example.
Ice melter will be spread on the sidewalks as necessary. The snow removal company may do a simple clearing first- meaning they may make a narrow path on the sidewalks and a simple 1-pass or 1-path clearing of the driveways during snowfall. Then, after final snowfall, they will come back to do a final and thorough clearing. We don't feel it is necessary to do full clearings of either sidewalk or driveways when it is snowing since they will be snowed over again in just a few hours- unless it is especially heavy snow, "wet" snow, etc.
Since people have different work and social schedules than other people, we all want snow removal to happen when it is convenient for our own schedule. However, since snow has no schedule, it will be cleared as seen necessary. It may be cleared at 7 pm for example, and may not be cleared at 4 pm, like we have been used to in the past.
