New Era Park Neighborhood Association

Historic Street Sign Topper Fundraising Begins

Mar 06, 2000

The New Era Park Neighborhood Association has joined the movement begun by other Midtown neighborhood associations and designed historic street sign toppers. Bungalows were the inspiration for the historic street sign toppers. The bungalows depicted are based on a compilation of several homes in the neighborhood. The design is rendered in five colors on a beige background. Two different designs allow for either a side or bottom mount on existing street sign poles.

NEPNA voted unanimously to accept the low bid submitted by River City Signs for manufacturing the historic street sign toppers. The Department of Public Works has reviewed and approved a map showing locations of the signs. A total of thirty-five signs will be installed in the neighborhood. The current boundaries of New Era Park Neighborhood are from 16th Street -- 29th Street and from the American River to the middle of E Street.

$ 4,000.00 is needed to fund this project. Please join us in this movement to restore the heritage and history of New Era Park.
