Limited Access Proposal

Rusty,

You bring up a lot of good points. We are in the exploratory stage on this issue. We have gathered some data/information from Stonebridge and are looking into costs. However, there are many unknowns. One of the major problems is how to incorporate Lennox Blvd. into the limited access proposal. Because Lennox is the entranceway to not only Park Timbers, but also Lennox Estates and Lakewood Estates, we have a major difficulty creating a limited access there.

We have looked conceptually into some possibilities, but there is no question that Lennox poses a major hurdle to any limited access proposal. Additionally, there is Brechtel Park that we cannot limit the access to, so even if we could find a way to limit access for the subdivisions along Lennox, we still have the Brechtel issue to confront. The whole concept may be a too hard to make happen, but we are at least looking into various possibilities. A number of residents have asked about this in light of the resident who was confronted by someone weilding a gun some months back.

Residents Generally Supportive

The recent Homeowners Survey indicated that by a margin of 66% for to 29% against, respondents favored the notion of limited access. The respondents were a bit less enthusiastic about the possibility of additional cost, but were in favor of paying up to $300 per year by a margin of 54% in favor to 37% against.

Limited Access--Video Help

In reviewing the possibilities of converting to an limited access community, we continue to draw interest, but we also continue to find physical challenges. Biggest problem is how to control access on Lennox without disrupting traffic going to other subdivisions and park. Anyone who has any suggestions on this, please feel free to let us know. Also, if anyone has experience with the use of video technology to assist in crime fighting, please let us know of any suggestions as to how we might use that.
