Starting a Welcome Committee

Posted in: Redland Woods

New Years always gives me the feeling of starting fresh, so this year one of the things I’ve decided to do is to get involved with our HOA. I contacted the Prez, Tom Bray, who suggested that I try to jump start the Welcome Committee, which ironically dissolved when the single only member left the neighborhood 2 years ago.

My ultimate goal is to create a Newcomer’s basket filled with lots of resources, an A-List (A for Awesome) of residents with services and skills a new homeowner might need and a few goodies from area businesses.

So, if you have a business or offer professional services, this is your chance to increase your exposure and marketing efforts with one call or email. If you have a teenager who baby-sits, a young man who does lawns, or a family member that does work on the side, please let me know.

As for the goodies, the Welcome Committee (me, party of one!) needs help soliciting free stuff from the shops around RW. How big is this job, you ask? We had 24 homes sell last year, and at this writing, 15 more are for sale. Also, if you have any ideas that will enhance my efforts, I welcome your suggestions.

Let’s make it a great year!
