Newkirk Estates Civic Assn.

We live in Newkirk Estates. Saturday night we heard a bang on our living room window and then a cracking noise. We went outside and found a man at the end of our driveway with a headlamp on and a firerm in his hand. It turned out to be a BB gun. When we asked him what the hell he was doing, he said his dog was out in his unfenced yard, and a skunk "attacked" his dog. So he took it upon himself to go through the neighborhood and find any skunk and kill it. He saw one on our lawn and attempted to kill it, but hit our living room window, shattering it. He denied hitting our window. He was also shooting in the direction of our cars. After words between us, he left and walked towards Phyllis Ave. Because we have no street lights, we couldnt see what house he went into. The police were called and we have a case number. If he is found, we will be pressing charges for reckless endangerment and property damage and he will be arrested. The fact that some mentally unstable person thinks he can just walk around the neighborhood, shooting at animals and peoples houses is beyond disturbing. What happened at his house had absolutely NOTHING to do with us. But we are left with a shattered front window and the fear this disturbed individual will come back. After a few choice words with my husband, he said he was "going to get his gun". He didnt come back that night, but now we have to live in fear that some night he will. Anyone living in our development needs to be aware that this POS living with us! BE CAREFUL!!
