There was a truck stolen on Glenwood Avenue some months ago, and I've heard other rumors of cars getting broken into, mostly for laptops and electronics. This is the first I've heard of change getting taken. Think I'll clean out the car tonight, just in case someone thinks there's something valuable under the old newspapers and pizza boxes...

If the doors are left open, they will typically just check for loose change and dollars left there...but generally there have been few real crime problems since the beginning of the year. There were 3 break ins thru most of February One break was from a former boy friend...so we are quite lucky if you pay attention, lock the doors and windows and do not be afraid to have some extra light around..Security checks used to be available from the police dept so I will check if they still do that service By the way there were 60 applicants for the Citizens Police Academy starting tomorrow I think, and only 20 made the cut.....so you will have some extra sharp ciitizens helping out soon... |

Jimmy is right on by the way....and CPU used to do the security checks which I believe they still do despite the tight budget, but will confirm. Lighting Lighting and More Lighting are pennies for dollars of protection. Landscape also not to provide cover for people who may want to break in and not be seen...More open spaces especially lower makes a difference...there are good tips here and if you google the websites for security tips and help. |
