Sounds like both DUI and his luck ran together.

We need to get these drunks off the road now, but sad that he was the end result as he turned his life around.

Dear Mary,

Losing this Providence peacemaker will not make it an easier on halting the gang violence in Rhode Island.

Peace,

It was very sad as David had really put his life together. I was fortunate to have known him both at the Institute as a trainer and at various interfaces thereafter.

Life sometimes places these cruel events together, but maybe we need to be better puzzle decoders to learn from all of these things.

This may help to put a positive spin for the David Cartagena Memorial Fund to help the kids he loved and helped.

Some of you emailed me back and asked me how could you help or contribute at this moment,  and some of you specifically asked me about a donation. I shared this information with Teny and other staff members.As many of you know David left a three year old daughter whom he loved with passion.
The money that you donate will be only for David's family to afford some of the expenses, or for  his daughter, one idea is to create a college fund for his daughter education.
For those who want to support and help David's family, the institute will be receiving donations. The institute will open an account to deposit the donations.
Since this process may  take  few days, if you would like to send your donation now please send your check or money order payable to;
 "The Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence",
Please write  on the bottom of the check " David Cartagena Memorial Fund"
It does not matter how much you can contribute, any penny counts at this moment.
The Institute address is:
9 Central Street
Providence, RI 02907
