Dear Arthur and friends,

The talk of local businesspeople is the Stop & Shop on Beverage Hill and Newport Avenues will be closing late in 2009.  A new Stop & Shop in the Wampanoag Mall near Taunton Avenue will replace the nearly 30 year old Pawtucket store.  What will be going into Stop & Shop in Pawtucket?  Is this story totally true?

I have heard rumors of the big box stores moving in after reconstruction.

There was a Lowe's proposed for the site, but that plan died with the economy last year. Another rumor is Building 19 will take over the space.
