MINUTES
APRIL 14, 2011
Meeting called to order by Kathleen Patterson
Several WPD officers attended the meeting. Community Officers Delose and Hageman as well as Patrol Officers Harlow and Rosaio.
Captain Harris gave the monthly crime report for March. 4 residential burglar alarms, 1 robbery, and 3 criminal mischief reported. Captain Harris updated us on WPD initiatives including the use of the State Police in high crime areas. He also reported that all of the officers laid off earlier in the year will be returning to the force.
Councilman Congo updated us on 2nd District information.
Councilman Congo is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23 from noon until 4:00 at Brandywine Park.
The city is in the hearing phase of the budget process. The councilman provided a schedule of the hearings. This information is also available on the city web site.
Kathleen Patterson updated the group about the status of the rehabilitation of 2700 Baynard Blvd. Some demo has been completed, floor plans need to be approved and then the work sent out for bids.
The Ninth Ward Civic Association will participate in the city wide Community Project Day on May 14. We will do a cleanup along Concord Avenue between Baynard and Monroe. We have adopted this block and it is time for another cleaning effort.
