I think that we need to start a neighborhood watch. In light of the recent activities over the past several months, we need to take control of our community. I am only just beginning to investigate how to start this, but if anyone is interested or has experience please chime in!

The first thing is to probably start an email list to notify one another of suspicious activity quickly.

I have to poke around this website to see if it has that capability.

There is an offical neighborhood watch program. We pursued the program last year. I still have the information. This is a formalized program that someone would need to lead. It is not as simple as just starting a neighborhood watch.

In light of the news on gangs in Chester County, Glenn and I would support any discussion on the topic. This can be a topic at our next HOA meeting in October. At that meeting we can ask for volunteers.

I agree that we should look into this further. Aren't the police involved in helping to set up neighborhood watch programs and if so, perhaps the board could arrange for someone to be at the October meeting. Is there an official date for that meeting as of yet?

Annual meeting

We are waiting to hear back from the school but the tentative date is the 17th of October.

At this meeting we will have the board report, voting for new board members and the report from the accountant. We are going to try to plan to have the townwatch topic on the agenda. Our goal would be to have a sign-up sheet for those interested in helping coordinate the townwatch. Depending on the agenda, we may have to arrange a separate meeting on the topic.
