The meeting was called to order by President Claire Green-Fallon at 3:05. The invocation was omitted.
The president introduced the panel of speakers: Steve Crump of WBTV News, Tanya Jamison, The Charlotte Observer, Pete Kaliner of WBT Radio and Brien Blakely of Fox News.
The following were discussed:
- Public/Private partnerships
- Business/Government
Many people care about their communities however, many want to move forward
- Economy Crisis - Business and the human side of bonding together. Let's not forget the bonding that has occurred after the recession is over.
- Local Government is the most responsive
- Community activities
- City council- in order to be heard, one must be vocal for them to know who you are or want to be
- More blogs - how is money obtained from that effort
Where is Charlotte headed? The economy, infra structure and so on.
- How can you get folks to get interested in Charlotte, the place where they live?
- Mixed income houses - Create a political will so that the politics can do
- To build communities
- How much governing are you to force upon folk?
- Need to come together to move forward
- Work forced housing - what is it?
- Value - are everything
- Uniqueness
- Rating and Revenue
- If it bleeds its lead
- Where are we as a city? Who is in control and where are we going?
- City at a cross road
- Identify is wrapped around the banks
- Who are the change agents? No voices, voices are silent
- Social Capital
- What is the media's roll and how do we do it?
- Seen and heard. More up lifting stories
- Solutions? What can we do?
