Dear Senator:

The San Antonio City Council plans to redirect air traffic over a community previously void of air traffic. Although the City still plans to hold a "public comment" session, I fear that the Council will not be persuaded to do otherwise.

I am a resident of Northern Hills. I have lived here for many years without direct overflights of Jet Aircraft.

I am very upset that our City Council can redirect air traffic over a neighborhood that has always been void of aircraft traffic It has been this way for over 25 years. The Council and the Noise Abatement Advisory Board are trying to pretend that they have followed the guidelines for doing a FAR Part 150 Study Update, but I feel that this is not true. We have not been treated fairly in this matter. The invitation was made to 125 communities, and there were citizen positions for only 12 people. We passed on the invitation, as Northern Hills has never been considered a noise sensative area.

If this recommendation is accepted, then it will be sending 125 flights per day over our community. We had no chance for rebuttal at the committee level. The notices about the meetings were poorly advertised, and again, we felt no need to attend. They had hoped to get this one finished without any notification of the residents of our communnity. If this becomes a reality, it would be an extreme injustice.

I would appreciate upon your insistence that the spirit of the FAR Part 150 guidelines be implemented, by insisting that:
1) You ask that the committee be reformed with a member of the community that will bear the brunt of this recommendation.

2) Direct the FAA to reject this portion of the City's
recommendation that creates the new flight track over the Northern Hills communnity.
