I wanted to let everyone know what has been heard so far from David Carpenter's District 10 office.
I sent an e-mail to David Carpenter on April 10 th.
I invited him to attend the Homeowners' meeting that was to be held on April 18th at the Waterford. His Senior Executive Secretary, Tina Blanco, responded on April 18th, with the following statement:
---------------------------------------
I apologize for the delay in responding to your concerns. This plan is a proposed plan which is part of the 150 Study that addresses recommendations to reduce noise over noise sensitive aeras it is by no means definite. The proposed plan is pending environmental assessment with Randolph Airspace (previous environmental ssessment would not allow extension of runway due to flood conditions on Salado Creek.) Tower must approve and FAA must give final approval. Keep in mind that because of heat and prevailing winds flight tracks will remain as is on most days (over 410.)
------------------------------------------
Now, to me this seems to be a brush-off. They want us to think it probably won't happen, so go away and don't worry.
Wrong! The best way to make sure this does not happen is to make sure city council removes the 15 degree turn from the proposal to the FAA.
What do you think? Write them and let your voice be heard.
If you want to show your support, hang a logo in your window!
If you would like to have a color printout of our Yard Sign "No Air Traffic over Northern Hills", with the airplane coming through the "Not Allowed" symbol, let me know, and I will send you one to hang in your front window. Just email me!
