Northern Hills Homeowner's Association

Carpenter Came, we saw...

Jul 18, 2000

David Carpenter came to a special meeting of the Northern Hills Homeowners Association on Tuesday, July 18th. He certainly sounded like he was in favor of helping our cause. I hope he meant it. I would hate to think it was just politician talk.

He turned the meeting over to John Williams of Ricondo and Associates who rehashed a history of the steps that got Northern Hills into the path of the planes. He did not, however, tell us that he felt we should not have this happen to us. He did objectively say that if we continued to complain to the FAA when they hold their hearings, that we may have a chance to save our homes from the crap that will come from being in the flight path.

I sure wish I could hear David Carpenter say out right "I am against the plan", but I know he has other people in District 10 to keep happy, and he would never have the nerve to commit himself to that kind of a faux paux.

Someone mentioned that we should get the cement plant to sell to a "well known" developer, let them build about 2000 homes where the plant used to be, and we would be saved. At least we are keeping our humor.
