LANDSLIDE:
New Ashford, Mass., Town Clerk and Secretary Richard DeMyer opened the polls for the state primary election -- and sat there, alone, for the entire 14-hour stretch. After no voters came in to cast a ballot, he decided not to bother himself, either, helping to reinforce the statewide turnout of just 9.39 percent, the lowest ever for a state primary. "Why the hell should I [vote]? Nobody else did," he said.
