Volunteers Are Welcome At Chollas Lake and San Diego Police Dept

Do you have some extra time on your hands? Would you like to help your community? Be a VIP!! (Volunteers in Policing). The San Diego Police Department can always use a few good men and women who can give them a few hours a month. You must be at least 18 years young, and there is no top limit on age. The VIP's help in various Police Storefronts, do fingerprinting, help in juvenile services, and many other positions, including clerical. There are four Police Storefronts in Mid-City area: Adams Ave., Colina Park, City Heights, and East San Diego. VIP's also serve at Central Headquarters and at most of the other Police facilities in the City. VIP's do not wear uniforms, carry guns or drive black-and-whites. For further information call Doris Perry, VIP coordinator, at 583-7321. Our local Police Storefront at 5891 University, is still in need of volunteers to work at the front desk. These folks are called VIPs ( Volunteers in Policing) and they do many jobs to help the police, such as answering telephones, helping people who come to the Storefront and assisting the officer in charge.
