Did you know that due to running toilets, dripping faucets and other household leaks, one single American household can waste more than 10,000 gallons of water every year? More than 1 trillion gallons of water leak from households across the U.S. each year-that is enough to fill 2 million Olympic size swimming pools!
Here are some useful tips to conserve water:
-Turn off the water when brushing your teeth,
-Take a shower instead of a bath
-Water your yard in the early morning or late evening when it’s cool outside. Watering when hot and sunny wastes water because most of it evaporates before the plants and grass have a chance to drink it.
-Wash your car with a bucket instead of a hose. A hose wastes 6 gallons per minute if left running, a bucket & sponge only uses a few gallons.
