Chollas Creek-Oak Park Branch Monthly Event
Join Chollas Creek friends, neighbors and volunteers as we work to keep our beautiful creek clear of litter and debris and upland areas free of invasive weeds. This segment of Chollas Creek is bordered by The New Roots Community Garden, Community Parks property and City of San Diego Open Space Parks land. The creek is un-channeled for the most part along this stretch, with Willows, Ash and other trees providing shade over a flowing stream with dry Coastal Sage Scrub and Chaparral surrounding it, an interesting contrast of habitats that support a wonderful variety of wildlife.
Community service hours documentation provided to those who need it. Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a youth waiver to participate in our events. This waiver can be found by clicking here. Wear sturdy shoes or boots and a hat and bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Tools and gloves provided. No bathrooms available.
Our next event day will be October 27, 2018
