On September 12, 2017, the Eastern Area Planning Group voted unanimously to approve the recommendation presented by Oak Park Community Council to install additional stop signs at the following intersections: Pirotte and 52nd Street, Redwood and 55th Street, 54th Street Frontage Rd & Marvin Street, and 52nd and Haniman Street. The proposal will be presented to the City Streets Division for approval. These intersections have been pending cases that have not received attention from the City for more than 1yr. The Oak Park Council is hoping that the Eastern Area Planning Group's decision will put pressure on the City to speed up the approval process. In addition, the Oak Park Community Council would like to continue to solicit feedback from residents on creating a more comprehensive proposal of safe, walkable, "complete streets" design to present for approval before our City representatives. If you have traffic concerns in Oak Park that you feel should be addressed, please contact our Traffic & Safety Chair, Chris Olow.
