Just a note for the parents of the kids riding their bicycles through or neighborhood. Suppose we were in a rural setting with horses. I let my kid ride his horse on your property and the horse unloads his business on your front lawn, is this OK with you? The problem is that there are a few kids in our neighborhood now that are able to ride bikes and they are congregating around a specific area in our neighborhood and causing a bit of a problem, we see no parental involvement so must assume that the parent doesn't have time or care to have a say in what their child is doing. The reality is that this will probably be the first of several encounters your child will have with the law. If you, the parent don't teach your child to respect others property the police will be called and then you will be forced to be involved. Why not save all of us some time and trouble and teach your kid to respect others property and stay on the sidewalk or street, if not, no problem, we'll just expediate the process.
I agree

My family and I were out walking a few weekends ago and there was a very young boy on a bike, that rode right next to us the entire time. We did not tell him to, and he did not ask. This same boy also rides his bike up to mine and others doorways when we or they are outside. This is dangerous. I think that children really need to be taught to be cautious of strangers, not curious of them. I would hope that my children never approach strangers in such a friendly manner, because not everyone they may encounter is so friendly.
