  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor

Yesterday Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at around 9:30am there was a white ('90's buick or chevrolet) park in my driveway and when my daughter left for school made me aware of it and I asked driver what was he doing parked in my driveway and he showed me a private investigator id and badge and stated he was checking some workers doing deliveries in our neighborhood. I found story to be kind of suspicious and afraid went inside my home trying to figure what to do and 5 minutes later I went back out and car was gone. I ran back in the house and got car keys and drove around neighborhood looking for vehicle but did not see it and thought it was kind of suspicious. Well I think that he might have been i thief looking to see if nobody is home to break in. My advise if anybody sees a car in any driveway or in front of any home with driver inside and kind of suspicious call police. And if nobody is home most of the day set your alarm. We must stick together to make our neighborhood a safe place to live in.

I know this is a little late in responding however thank you for the post as I will keep an eye out for anything suspicious.  Oakleaf Hammock as a community needs to do something about our gates not always being closed.  There is power to the gates in the back on the community and I was told twice that they will be operating as of June 1st and then again June 18th.  Today is the 2nd of July and they are still not working.  This would prohibit strangers from entering our neighborhood and causing stress over our children as we don't have enough as it is.  Also, as for the front gate the trades should have to get either a weekly pass code that works during business hours and is disabled after hours and the same on weekends.  If someone wants to see the neighborhood as a potential buyer they should have to buzz the sales office to get access.
