Code Enforcement
A phone call or anonymous tip to either Code Enforcement or the Recreation Center will get a response. There are 6 Code Enforcement Officers covering the entire county. They do not sit in their office waiting for you to call. Animal Control will trap animals and remove them from the area. All they need to know is where they sleep, mate and eat. Wild animals are frequently rabid, more dangerous and are more difficult than domesticated species to determine, more than where they are seen. Code Enforcement and Animal Control do not drive around the county trying to spot violations, they respond to information or complaints. Animal Control can be reached at Manatee County Animal Services, 305 25th Street West, Palmetto, FL 34221, Phone: (941) 742-5933, Fax: (941) 723-4708 and Code Enforcement can be reached at Manatee County Code Enforcement, Department of Public Safety, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, 5th Floor, P.O. Box 1000, Bradenton, Florida 34206, Phone: (941) 748-2071, Fax: (941) 741-3539

We have a terrific, well diversified population in our community. We have as many young families as we have retired couples. We have the full gambit of skilled, service and retail workers, blue collar, white collar and the retired compliment of the same in our ranks. If most residents offered a few hours a year toward helping a neighbor or supporting some function, then imagine the improvements we would see in our community. The resources of our facilities, the comradre?’ of our functions and the wealth of friendship and experiences that can be shared, all add to the nature of our community. It reminds me of a quote that goes ?“if your not part of the solution, you must be part of the problem.?” Why not visit the Garden Club, Crime Watch, the Home Owners or other items that interest you. If we all do just a little bit, then we all have benefit and gain. If or when you were raising children, when they were taught to pick up after themselves, it was an improvement. When they learned to help out, there was more time for other things to do together. That still hold true toward the strength and obligations we have to our community. Hope to see you there.
