Oaks II & III Neighbors

A group of neighbors have been working on a making a card to give to Childsplay to welcome them when they move into Mitchell School.  If you want to sign the card, please let me know by email (mkyle@asu.edu).  Along with the card we are going to purchase a plant for the lobby of the building.

We had a great time helping "Tempe Cares" to paint the school last week.  It was quite an event -- 250 people registered as volunteers to help out.  Although the painting didn't quite get completed, it really looks great.  New glass has been put in to windows and they were expecting carpet this week, so it won't be long before Childsplay can begin moving in.  

Nice gesture, Marcia.  I will gladly sign, as will others on my block.

ChildsPlay has an open house tour of their new facility each Wednesday at 3:30 pm; congregate on the east side by the old parking areas. They will probably cease by the end of the month. I went on it yesterday and the progress between then and in January when Steve Martin took the Association members round is stunning. I strongly recommend taking the tour! They are fully expecting to move in on May 12th and plan an opening event a short time thereafter.

The card is going around now.  Everyone I talked to was happy to sign it, and some were very enthusiastic.  It was late when I went around, so I still have the card and will take it to Marcia soon.  Great Idea!
