Your Opinion

What a resident has to say can make a difference.

Would that be how you listened to the residents about the Police Department and still voted to disband them?

That was the easy way out. The Difficult decision would have been to keep the Police Department and find a way to make it work.

You and the others took the easy road and avoided the hard work.

I listen to the residents and I believe that the current Council listens to the residents as well. I always strive to explain why something can or cannot be done. The beauty of our Democracy that we live in is the ability to be able to express your feelings and opinions. In my opinion there has been little input for the Council. Attendance at Council Meetings is low, but improving, and without residents there to speak the Council cannot get the feedback that we need. I encourage residents to come to the meetings and express their concerns. Unlike in the past residents can sign up to speak throughout the meeting and even if they did not sign the list they are still allowed to address the Council and Mayor.

Regardless of what a person living in another state who has not attended a Council meeting in over a year has to say, Residents' comments can make a difference.

The only way a resident can speak is if they agree with you and the mayor. Have you forgotten?

Nothing To Forget

A resident can speak freely about any subject. Whether I agree with that resident's position does not matter. As I have always said, while I may not agree with what you say I will defend your right to say it.

I can only give a person the reasons why I believe something can or cannot be done. I can also give them all of the information that I have and allow them to make their own decision. I am sure that there are some issues that no matter what I present to a person we will always be on the opposite side of an issue.

Residents have the right to state their position. I am glad that their is a Village Administration that allows residents to speak to before the Council. I always encourage polite discourse.
Is Your Nose Growing?

I would start out with ''polite discourse'' as a resident and then as a council member.

No one, encluding you, wanted to discuus the real problems in Valleyview. You didn't want to discuss how to get the resident's money back.

You have covered up for all the people who did wrong to the Village.

As for me being a ''good buddy'' to Raylene, haven't you ever heard, ''Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer?''

Raylene was never a friend of mine. Bob was but Raylene rules the roost. She showed this when she fired Mark without benefit of council approval and then hid from everyone.

Of course I wanted Mark fired. I would also ask to fire your current police. They have shown they aren't worthy of the position. I would hope they wouldn't be there if Susie Sullivan had done all job and reported to council.

Watkins would not be there if Parrish had told of his history. He will say he didn't know, but who backs a person for office without checking their background? The mayor controls the police,is his history less important?

Parrish only tells and listens to what benefits him.

His favorite, ''I did this or that,'' makes him feel a big man.

Parrish and Hellwege supported Watkins at the Ohio Election Commission, this will comes in handy when the truth comes out.
