Entrances

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
Ok first off I don't want to start an uproar and I'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings. This is not that big of a deal but it does bother me.

Our entrances are not as nice as the medians in Dublin. That's a fact. That is not a question.

If the answer to this issue is that we're waiting for ODOT to do there thing then I'll buy it. But the Sawmill Parkway Entrance is nothing fancy either I don't believe. I know it doesn't cost much to have beds added and add some nice perennials. So why isn't this being done. At $250 year it should be included and we should have 2 entrances that match the best in town.

If a BBF resident is doing this then please don't take this the wrong way. It may just take a professional landscaper to setup but after that there isn't much maintenance required.

The benefit that every homeowner would derive from this is pretty big for the small amount of input.

Any thoughts?
Volunteer

This is not meant to be a condescending reply...If you don't like the entrance, enlist some volunteers and fix it up. I have seen this many times in other developments. The residents choose a day in the spring to fix up the entrances and plant flowers. Why is it that everytime something needs attention in the subdivision the answer is charge more money and have someone else do it?????
Agree with volunteer

If you read the budjet submitted by the trustees you will see the funds taken in by the HOA fees are spent on maintenance. Having lived in a previous subdivision I know they had a garden club that took care of the common areas. They sold flowers to get the funds to make the entrances look really good.

Not to be negative, but I have to believe if you would ask for help here, you would get not get a good response. Try it. I would help, but don't have to the time to run it.

You and everyone has to understand that this subdivision has a great deal of ''common space''. Much more than others. Thus why we pay our dues. It is not that much, and personally I would pay more if we could make this the best subdivision to live in.

After reading other posts, there may be too many people here who don't care!
landscaping committee

I do not believe any resident should be able to change an entrance because they do not like it. Why is this person being told to volunteer. The second they volunteer, they are going to hurt the feelings of the person who put that landscaping together in the first place. Everybody has different opinions, and if we could voluntarily put in what we wish as individuals, the entrances would be changed weekly by a different resident. This needs to be a HOA decision. They need to form a landscaping committee that they have been referring to creating for the last two or three years. This would help.
