Telling others about this site

Posted in: Westlake
I know that there is a lot of complaining going on about Westlake, & who needs to be doing what. This tends to only affect those who are actually doing their part. I know that this is a great neighborhood, & has potential to be even greater. I also realize that there is very minimal activity when it comes to our homeowner's meetings. I personally have been to a few, & think that there is a whole lot of attention that needs to go to a whole lot of needs, but that there is not enough willing to be involved. If what we're doing isn't changing things, then we need to try another approach. I think this is a great place to get started on making some changes to Westlake. I think that if more residents who actually use this site will tell a few neighbors about it, then we can get a larger percentage of residents started on what we can all come together & do to make this place better. I know that there are others out there who would like to participate in helping Westlake become a more pristine neighborhood, but don't have a lot of extra time with jobs & family. I feel we can start here, come closer, & do some great things together. I would personally like to be active in a group that notifies people that they need to cut their grass and/or pay their dues. Please let me know what you think; try to be more open minded & less resentful & maybe more will join us.

Proud of where I live

I agree that this neighborhood has the potential to be great, because I have lived in it long enough to have seen it great, to not so good, to the better state that it is in now.
I tried to be involved early on and then got either lazy or complacent and stopped going to meetings, and I guess I just let other people handle the neighborhood issues. I remember feeling the same way as some others, as to wondering how my dues were being spent and not understanding how much money it takes to upkeep the common area and the neighborhood. I decided that I didn't want to watch my neighborhood continue to deteriorate, and decided to get involved once again. I feel like a more informed resident of Westlake and have a better feeling about myself and the neighborhood since getting involved, and I wish other people who are wanting to be more involved or who don't fully understand or agree with the way dues are being spent, would take some time to come to the web site or come to a meeting, or just call one of the contacts of the association. I would like to see our neighbors join together to make our neighborhood beautiful and friendly. It may be wishful thinking on my part, but that is the type of neighborhood I want to live in, and is one of the reasons my family chose to live in Westlake nearly 14 years ago, and remain here today.
