A water line break that has left LaPlace residents without water has been repaired, but residents and businesses in the affected area will be under a boil water order for about two days, until the water can be tested for bacteria, Parish President Natalie Robottom said Tuesday.
The affected area lies east of River Parishes Hospital, on Rue de Sante, Robottom said.
The water may be suitable for bathing, but should be boiled before drinking.
The restriction is in place because the water system lost pressure, allowing bacteria the opportunty to enter and contaminate the system. A water line between the Ruddock water well and the parish's treatement plant in LaPlace on Tuesday.
