On April 13, Colorado Springs City Council agreed that the city would search for $1.2+ million to complete the bridge over Monument Creek on Uintah Street. The balance of the money, Council said, should come from the Neighborhood or elsewhere but not from city coffers. We will be discussing this issue at our annual meeting. Please come. The city can assess the homeowners, if they feel that the bulk of the neighbors would support such an assessment, and as it now stands that cost would be about $58.00 per year. Options are to scrap the various parts of the project that don't directly affect the bridge; to expand the list of "stakeholders" or to find another source of funding for some of the project, for example, the ramps which are connected to trails and bicycling issues; or to pay the assessment in order to have the full project from the railroad bridge to Cascade Avenue.
