Dear San Rafael Neighbors:
I am writing to ask for your assistance with a City-wide neighborhood effort to
help Denver school children. I recently became the Vice Chair of the
Interneighborhood Cooperation group, which is a coalition of registered
neighborhood organizations commonly known as INC. San Rafael is a member of
INC, which was very supportive of San Rafael's OD-9 overlay district.
Each year, INC raises the funds necessary to provide each Denver third-grade
student with a free dictionary and a free thesaurus. This project has been very
popular with the students, teachers, parents, the School District and the
Mayor's office. This year, INC is approximately $5,100 short of its $30,000
goal, and the books are due to be distributed to the students soon.
The San Rafael Board approved a contribution of $100 from neighborhood funds,
and we have secured an additional $560 through three residents of San Rafael.
Please consider making a contribution to this worthwhile effort and, if you do,
please make sure to indicate that you live in San Rafael. You can make your
check payable to: Dollar Dictionary Drive, P.O. Box 18347, Denver, CO, 80218.
Thank you for considering this appeal!
Regards,
Paul Benington, President
Old San Rafael Neighborhood, Inc.
